PV, Trails, and Guns

So far, I have one panel mounted over the westy top. The second will mount over the cab, but I have yet to weld up a rack to hold it. The panels weigh about 20Kg each, which is definitely noticeable when opening the pop top. I may add some gas pistons to make roof operation easier.

Does anyone recognize what these custom mounts used to be?

Well, do what it says dammit.

230 Watts.

My other rig. No, not the van.

A little extra security.

Not a bad pattern at 15 meters.

One thing about the mog, it seems to get upset if you spend too much time on paved surfaces. It will then show its anger by being cantankerous.

That’s all for now, but stay tuned for tire carriers, welding, motorized bicycles, and other shenanigans.

  1. Regarding that lock you bought.. what did you do about the bolts holding the doors in place? They are rather easy to unscrew.. I am thinking about putting in some kind of d-ring loop and then padlocking the doors to the body.. or perhaps swapping the bolts for ‘tamperproof’ ones..

    • If you were worried about the entire back of the box being removed, you could tack weld a couple of the bolts or weld a couple links of chain to the box and doors at the corners. Locks only help keep honest people honest. If someone is going to put the effort into removing quite a few likely very stuck bolts and risk being crushed by very heavy doors, they could always break in some other way.
