Last weekend was the first annual Mountain Rendezvous, made possible by some great folks from the forums at www.expeditionportal.com. It is the sister event of the Desert Rendezvous. Mountains in the summer, and the desert in the winter. It works out great!
- Airing down tires after leaving pavement.
- Heading to the RdV with as little time on the tarmac as possible.
- The mog is much happier off pavement.
- On Burns Canyon Road, a short damaged my voltage regulator and disabled my truck’s entire chassis electrical system. This gentleman was kind enough to stop and help troubleshoot. After I had essentially hot-wired my own truck, I continued on.
- A large fuel spill from a wrecked tanker closed 38 to through traffic. This made for fewer vehicles piling up behind me between turnouts as I climbed grades at 22mph.
- 30 seconds, ISO 3200, Stars.
- Kyle’s CUCV, pretty much a diesel military K5.
- Clouds! Trees! I’m not in the desert!
- Gravlax is a Scandinavian style of cold cured fish. More info coming soon on the food page.
- Back Row! Everyone here won something in the raffle. A big thanks to everyone who donated things for the raffle, especially Adventure Trailers for the Jerry can holder I won.fo
- Pepper!
- Wil airs up the Cruiser’s tires with the Mog.
- Camp winds down on Sunday.
- Safety First!
- Took 2n01 to 2n02 this time.
- The weather was just on the warm side of absolutely perfect.
- Not sure what trail this is, but I’ve been been up and down it in the Mog as well as the Rover.
- Had to stop and back up when I spotted this..
- What a find! It was right there on the trail, a couple feet away from its pin.
